Case study and ideation for a Next Generation Movie application designed during a summer internship at Yahoo! Inc. The problem given was to create a way to entice the young generation to use Yahoo! Inc over other leading competitors, but to do so in a way that the older generation of Yahoo users were not upset by the redesign. Another understated problem associated with this task was to somehow create an organized manor for viewers to search through the plethora of content Yahoo has to offer without getting frustrated. After much research I discovered that more and more young people are using IPad’s and mobile devices to both watch movies, television shows, etc, and to also stay connected socially and post updates in accordance with what they are watching. This app tries to not only offer an organized way to search through content but also brings in social media, so that a viewer does not have to leave the Yahoo! application in order to update twitter or facebook statuses.
